We're happy to collaborate with the other humans on your dog's team, such as your vet, veterinary behaviourist, groomer, pet-sitter or walker.
Start your journey with an action plan that is tailored to your dog's needs and your lifestyle.
During your onboarding session, we'll discuss your goals for your life with your dog. You'll discover shortcuts to promote better choices, and tips to meet their needs without burning yourself out. We'll start with training foundations, which continue in our coaching sessions.
Onboarding sessions are online by default, to avoid the distraction of your dog reacting to a visitor. However, if an online session is less accessible for you, let us know, and we'll arrange an alternative that supports your comfort and focus.
After onboarding, our private coaching sessions guide you through your personalized action plan.
You'll learn how to respond when things don't go according to plan. Together, we'll teach your dog new skills in small steps, and introduce real distractions strategically. You'll see better results with consistent practice. Between sessions, we highly encourage you to submit videos of your work-in-progress for feedback! Text us for additional support during our office hours.
Access in-person coaching sessions in Burnaby, North Vancouver, Vancouver and New Westminster. We'll meet at your home, or at another safe comfortable location, like a park or trail. We also offer online training Canada-wide.
Your dog is an individual.
Their genetics. Their past experiences and personal preferences. Their surroundings. All of it influences their behaviour.
Behaviour change takes time, consistency, and collaboration: we use your knowledge of your own dog plus our knowledge of canine learning and behaviour to apply the ethical, science-based strategies that will work best for you.
We're happy to explain the evidence and rationale behind the techniques we teach you, but there are no guarantees when it comes to the behaviour of living beings. Please be wary of trainers offering guarantees or quick fixes.
Your dog's emotional responses during training are just as important as their behaviour. We do not use training methods or tools that cause pain, fear or avoidance.
Your wellbeing is also important to us. Have you been blamed and shamed in the past for your dog's behaviour? Have you tried training that involved aversive tools or dominance theory? You are so welcome here! We are glad you found us, and we're excited to show you how force-free training can improve your life with your dog.
